About us

Innovatiecluster Drachten consists of 23 high-tech innovative companies.

We do not compete with each other, but work together. This is how we develop and make high-quality and unique products. We do this by sharing knowledge. That is why we welcome new insights and enjoy working with technological talented people. We share knowledge through, for example, honours programmes for students and High Tech Safaris. We also offer special career and development programmes for talented people, and we provide mentoring for high-tech start-ups. The companies share high-tech equipment, including industrial metal and plastic 3D printers and cobots in our Shared Facility Center. This is where our workplaces for R&D projects, development and testing facilities for 3D printing are located. Soon we will also add auditoriums for school and student programmes.

Innovatie en samenwerking tijdens de Principia Prijs 2023

Op 28 november 2023 kwamen talentvolle werktuigbouwkunde studenten samen bij een evenement dat innovatie en creativiteit viert: de Principia Prijs, georganiseerd door de Universiteit Twente. Op donderdag 30 november heerste er een enthousiaste sfeer in de AH-zaal op het Philips-terrein. Er waren 45 gasten van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG) aanwezig. De meerderheid bestond uit studenten van de master Mechanical Engineering, maar dit jaar waren er ook voor het eerst studenten van de masters Datascience en Industrial Engineering uit Groningen aanwezig….

Op 22 september 2023 verwelkomde het Innovatiecluster Drachten (ICD) 25 studenten van Hochschule Emden-Leer voor een unieke ‘Safari’ excursie in het moderne SKILL gebouw op het Philips terrein, het ‘Shared Knowledge Innovation Learning Lab’. Deze studenten, gespecialiseerd in Industriële Automatisering en Datascience, kregen een kijkje in enkele toonaangevende technische bedrijven in de regio en verdiepten…
