Hytrans is an innovative and successful production organisation that develops and produces high-quality mobile water transport systems. Hytrans is the international market leader and supplies 'state of the art' mobile water transport systems worldwide that are used, among other things, in disaster relief and rescue operations. Approximately 80 motivated employees work in Lemmer to sell, develop, assemble and provide support for the products.

The function:
As a Cost Engineer you play an important role in quickly and effectively arriving at the right calculations for customer projects (0.5M€ -10 M€ sales price). You work closely with your colleagues from the sales, engineering, purchasing, work preparation and finance departments.
In your role you will switch a lot between technology and commerce where your knowledge of cost prices of products and technologies is of great value. You therefore also have an important contribution in monitoring cost prices and identifying cost price improvement projects. You report to the Manager Supply Chain.
Key duties in this role:
- You make calculations for projects based on tender information or customer specifications in collaboration with colleagues from different departments. You have direct contact with suppliers if necessary.
- For the calculations you sometimes make certain cost estimates based on knowledge and experience in the organization due to the newness of the project, time pressure and/or missing data.
- After receiving the order, you ensure that the knowledge of the calculation is properly transferred to the project manager and the work planners for the best possible project execution. You continue to monitor the execution of the project to learn from it for new calculations.
- You periodically monitor the cost prices of Hytrans products, technologies and market prices/developments of critical sub-products such as trucks, hook-arm systems and trailers. You ensure that the cost prices of all standard Hytrans products are up-to-date and correct.
- You identify potential cost improvement projects and supervise them.
What do we ask of you?
- A business background and knowledge of mechanical engineering or vehicle technology.
- You are enterprising, enthusiastic, self-driven, accurate and can deal with time pressure and uncertainty.
- You are approachable, a team player and have strong communication skills.
- HBO working and thinking level, you can easily separate the main issues from the secondary issues.
- You have knowledge of calculation/estimation methods and can communicate well in English and German.
- You are digitally skilled and have good knowledge of ERP systems. Knowledge of Ridder IQ is a plus.
