Reliability is an important characteristic of a product for both the end user and the producer. The challenge is to design and manufacture a product reliably in such a way that it meets the requirements and wishes of the end user at the lowest total cost. At an early (design) stage, choices have to be made that influence the proper functioning of the product during use.
Jan Betten, engineer at Variass, discussed the different ways to predict or test the reliability of a product (PCBA) during the lecture. Betten has over 25 years of experience in designing analog and digital electronics products for various markets. Within Variass he is responsible for the Product Development and Test Engineering department. His extensive experience in Product Development and Design for Excellence (DfX) is an important added value in advising customers on successful product development.
Network and knowledge platform
The Precision Fair experienced its 17th edition this year and has grown into a unique, international and interdisciplinary knowledge and network platform in the field of precision technology. It is therefore the annual event for everyone involved in the development and production of high-tech components, modules and systems. During the development of these parts and systems, increasingly higher demands are made on shape and size accuracy or on fast, precise positioning. More than 300 high-tech companies present themselves with stands, projects and more than 50 lectures. The latest developments in the field of:
- precision mechanics
- Machines and tools for extremely accurate material processing
- Materials (composites, ceramics, glass, metals)
- Measuring machines and tools
- Micro-assembly
- Micro Machining
- Motion control & Piezo components
- Precision Machinery & Mechatronics
- Vacuum technology.
