How do you keep your starting company financially healthy and which sources of money can you tap into for this? These and other financial questions were answered by 12 start-up techno companies at Neopost in Drachten on Thursday 18 February, during the first in a series of workshops organized by Innovatiecluster Drachten.

Joost Krebbekx, program manager of Innovatiecluster Drachten, introduced the technostarters to financial engineering; obtaining growth capital in the right way. "A correct way means appropriate to the way in which the entrepreneur does or does not want to commit himself to a capital provider," he told the entrepreneurs.

Crowdfunding

The subsidies for starters in the Northern Netherlands turned out to be virtually unknown. Seed capital, informal investors and funds such as Doefonds Fryslân were reviewed. Douw & Koren concluded the workshop with advice on how entrepreneurs can use crowdfunding. Gijsbert Koren ,,This rapidly emerging method of financing not only has all kinds of positive marketing effects, but also provides affordable money''.

The workshop was supported by the Ondernemersvereniging Drachten. The next workshop will be on electric drives and will be in March.
