The end of the academic year has come, also for students of the Associate degree Associate degree Industrial Automation and Robotics at NHL Stenden. This dual training consists of theory and practice, in which the students work at a company to gain practical experience.
In the last 10 weeks of Module 3, the students worked in the SKILL building in Drachten. Here they took practical classes on Friday afternoon:
- OMRON Techman Robot Programming and using vision pick up and put away 3 color cubes
- Smart Gripper: designing, 3D printing including sensor, testing functions on a UR Robot and demonstrating hardness grading
- Condition based monitoring of an engine system by means of sensors and software.
The students concluded their academic year with a Robo Future symposium and a poster market. For this occasion, the students were asked to create a poster for the Robo Future module. The poster had to contain a table of steps and a convincing recommendation for improvement. Each student presented his or her ideas and advice for a technical innovative solution within the company where they work, on the basis of a self-made poster. Afterwards there was an opportunity to ask questions, and teachers gave their feedback on the presentations. The event concluded with a vote on the three best proposals.
The winners are:
3rd place – Levi Kroon (JB Besturingstechniek) and Stefan Absen (Boikon)
2nd – Jelmer Smoor (Menicon BV)
1st – Nick Meijer (Fresenius-Kabi)
