With these words, Professor Carole Jackson, general manager of ASTRON, signed the collaboration with the high-tech companies of Innovatiecluster Drachten on Friday afternoon, September 29.

All primary schools in Fryslân have a robot
One thing is certain, technology will change and determine the future of our children. That is why we hand out a robot with a teaching package to every primary school in Fryslân.
Children choose technology by robot in class
25 students from Het Mozaïek primary school in Drachten are enthusiastically clamoring for their new friend, one of the 400 EDU robots. They help with packing and preparing the robots for shipping, because from today all Frisian primary schools will receive a robot with a teaching package.

Robin teaches toddlers English
Not only do we encourage children to learn from technology. Tilburg University is investigating how Robin can teach the robot toddlers a different language. And robot ZINO from the University of Twente teaches children to give compliments.
NHL University under the spell of robot spiders
On Wednesday 28 June, smart, mechanical insects conquer the NHL University of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden for the fourth year in a row. Then students from the Engineering and ICT departments compete against each other with their 'smart spiders' or 'hexapods'. A jury judges them on speed, cleverness, robustness and above all beauty.
