Discover how our matchmaking is evolving

On Thursday, November 30, there was an enthusiastic atmosphere in the AH hall on the Philips site. There were 45 guests from the University of Groningen (RUG) present. The majority consisted of students from the Mechanical Engineering master's program, but this year, for the first time, students from the Data Science and Industrial Engineering master's programs from Groningen were also present.
The group was led by Prof. Maryam Gandichi Tehrani, responsible for the study tracks Smart Factories, Advanced Instruments and Energy Systems.
This event marked the start of a period in which these students will reflect on their fourteen-week design assignments. The Innovatiecluster Drachten (ICD) had once again organized a matchmaking event with several ICD companies including ZiuZ, Philips, FMI, resato, Spark Holland and Batenburg Bones.
Students had the opportunity to visit various booths and discuss the opportunities prepared by the companies or to present their own ideas.
This interaction between companies and students will lead to new partnerships that will start soon. The aim is to ensure that students can start practice-oriented collaborations with these companies from the beginning of February 2024.
The matchmaking event demonstrates the ICD's ongoing commitment to connecting academic knowledge with the practical needs of industry. By bringing together students and companies, the ICD creates valuable opportunities for innovation and practical experience, essential for the development of future engineers and the industry as a whole.
