News | April 7, 2022
On March 30, 2022, the ICT network of the Northern Netherlands organized Connect.frl, with the theme 'Data science'. The event was aimed at students from the region who are looking for a career in a high-tech company. On behalf of the ICD, ZiuZ, De Wulf, Philips, BD, Kwant Controls and YP Your Partner were present to talk about the activities of the ICD, the affiliated high-tech companies and to discuss possibilities for internships or their first dream job with students on the exhibition floor. .
The program consisted of presentations, networking and at the end there was a drink with a pub quiz. The first presentation was by Gerard Kempers, known to many as a successful skater and coach and since 2018 he has been director of TalentNED. This organization helps young top athletes to develop their talent in a sustainable way. Kemkers talked about the connection between what is needed to bring athletes to the highest level of performance and the influence of data in top sport.
This was followed by a presentation on 'Data, an inconvenient truth?' by Ronald Damhof, Enterprise Architect, Data & Analytics at the Tax Authorities. He talked about how he translates data architecture into decision-making and enterprise architecture, and then links these to the organizational goals.
Theun Prins of YP Your Partner gave a presentation on predictive maintenance. Supported by the most diverse practical examples and experience, he gave a practical view on the importance of smartly combining high-tech technologies, such as IoT, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twin and Mixed/Augmented Reality. This helps to gain insight into and influence technical installations. Here too, the importance of collaboration from the most diverse disciplines and functions plays a major role, from field service engineer to data scientist.
