Once again an award winner joins Innovatiecluster Drachten, high tech company VDH Products BV from Roden. She is the official industry winner for the Measurement and Control Technology Industry of the National Business Success Award 2016 and will join the high-tech business cluster on Thursday 27 October.

Hanze University of Applied Sciences and Innovatiecluster Drachten start their own technical course

The first for the new HBO course in Mechatronics in the Northern Netherlands is for high-tech company Neopost in Drachten. On behalf of Innovatiecluster Drachten (ICD), this high-tech company has set up its own course together with the Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen. Thirteen technicians had their first day of class last week.

Start Human Capital Agenda Innovatiecluster Drachten

On September 22, the kick-off meeting of the 'Human Capital Agenda – ICD' project took place at Neopost. A new initiative of the ICD – HR working group of the Innovatiecluster Drachten. All ICD companies and a large number of MBO schools from the Northern Netherlands were present at this meeting. There was a lot of enthusiasm and energy in the room to further improve the cooperation between the ICD companies and vocational education.

Lead in high-tech Northern Netherlands thanks to new field lab

The possibilities in high tech are endless, but so are the challenges. Every reason for Innovatiecluster Drachten (ICD) to open a Shared Facility Center in Drachten where companies and researchers work together on the future. This takes place in the oldest piece of industrial heritage in Drachten, the Philips AA building. They will share pre-competitive knowledge and experience and an industrial 3D metal printer will be housed there. "In this way we give the Northern Netherlands a head start in the high-tech industry."
