ICD mini-symposium – Distributed Connected Systems
13:00 - 16:00 SKILL, Oliemolenstraat 5 Drachten
We would like to cordially invite you to the upcoming ICD mini-symposium on distributed connected systems. The trend is that there are more and more systems around the world that are connected to the OEMs in the northern region and on top of that, more and more systems are equipped with more, and often new types, of sensors. With a current installed base of 250,000 systems and, let's say, an average of 10 sensors per system, we now read 2,500,000 million sensors. This generates new data, and hopefully also new insights. And not only for the user (customer) and OEM (supplier) but also banks and insurers. In this way, pay-per-use and pay-per-click come into view.
Subject:
Three guest speakers will take us through their developments:
Willem Siderius, Stertil
Stertil makes heavy duty lift systems from Kootstertille and 2 colleague factories in the US and PRC. They work with 750 people on remote reading of these main and secondary systems. Willem talks about the developments of these systems in the field of sensory and IIoT. Willem is no stranger to the ICD, given his previous position at Dewulf.
Heinrich Woertche, Hanze/TUe
From his professorship, Heinrich has a nice anthology about the developments of sensors and communication protocols. Autarkic or low Energy, but also new types of sensors will be discussed. Heinrich is a permanent partner of the ICD.
Robert Kool, Siemens DDX
DDX is a new startup from Siemens that offers a new data platform where data from machines can be made transparent for multiple users. This is precisely about the combination with insurers and banks, which allows both users and providers to save costs or offer new services. Robert is new to the ICD but has a very interesting story to tell!
