GIRLS' DAY 2022 (10-15 JR)
10:00 Westeinde 100, 3844DR Harderwijk
on Thursday 7 April 2022 Girlsday will be organized again. Also this year, Platform Techniek will be the link between companies and schools in our region and the national VHTO. If you are interested, please register with us via the red registration button.
About Girls' Day
During Girls' Day, beta, technical, IT companies and technical or IT departments of companies open their doors to girls aged 10 to 15 years throughout the Netherlands. The girls can participate in interesting activities, meet female employees and learn more about STEM activities. In short, Girls' Day lets girls experience the undiscovered world of science, technology and IT up close!
Targets
Girls' Day is intended to introduce and enthuse girls between the ages of 10 and 15 about science, technology and IT. It is important that girls get a broad and realistic picture of science, technology and IT companies and the associated professions and become acquainted with their female employees. Recently, it has become more clear than ever how important science, technology & IT are for society. For example, lab technologists are working on the development of vaccines, technicians are devising ergonomic solutions for home workplaces, and IT professionals are championing secure video connections. This is a great opportunity to enthuse girls for science, technology and IT!
Platform Technology Northwest Veluwe
As Platform Techniek we attach great importance to our regional and connecting role. That is why we take the lead ourselves and connect companies and schools, and then register them as participants at VHTO. Interested? Mail us via info@platform-techniek.nl
Why participate
Much female STEM and ICT talent is lost, often because girls are unfamiliar with STEM, technical and ICT professions and education. Visiting a company can help broaden girls' view of science, technology and ICT and influence their career choices. Participating companies have noticed that the involvement and willingness of (female) employees to commit themselves to the future generation is high. The companies experience it as positive to maintain contact with schools in the area.
